Indie Web Resources
- Neocities: Free website host with no ads. Ghost in the Garden is hosted on Neocities.
- W3 Schools: Thorough coding tutorials.
- 32-Bit Cafe: A friendly community of pretty smart people. Lots of guides, resources, and tutorials for the personal web. Check out their Discourse forum.
- *Kawaiiness: A very cute website featuring a ton of equally cute pixel art. I got my favicon from here.
TTRPG
- The Alexandrian: Lots of resources for Game Masters by an experienced GM. Recommended post: Don't Prep Plots.
Writing
- Patricia C. Wrede's Worldbuilding Questions: Helpful worldbuilding prompts to make you think.
- Ellipsus: Cloud-based writing tool with an interesting drafting feature. Allows for co-writers & can export directly to AO3.
- LegendKeeper: A wiki/note-taking tool designed specifically for worldbuilding.
- Worldwide Story Structures by Kim Yoonmi: A very thorough and well-researched essay on story structure across different cultural traditions besides the Western three-act structure.
- Side note: I stumbled across Kim's essay because I was looking for East Asian sources on the four-act story structure, or, as it's called in Japanese, "kishotenketsu." It is frustrating how difficult it is to find sources on this story structure that aren't by white bloggers, so here is a link to Henry Lien's book on craft, Spring, Summer, Asteroid, Bird: The Art of Eastern Storytelling.
Miscellaneous
- Food Timeline: A timeline tracking the first known appearance of various types of food over the course of history.
- The Useless Web: Just try it. Trust me.
- Make Frontend Shit Again: Similar to The Useless Web but a little more chaotic in terms of design.
